watched a programme in national geographic channel.. called air crash investigation ( i think...).. is a series, showing the past aviaiton accidents, big or small.. in each episode they show an air crash, telling us how it happened.. is sad to know the causes of the air crashes la..
today is abt a crash in US.. the plane crushed due to the lack of fuel n adverse weather.. can you imagine your plane is about to reach the destination, the lights all go off, and the engines of the plane stop functioning one by one? n all you hear is the wind sound.. the plane just falls forward down to the land. this is what it happened.. i think the most dangerous thing is the lack of fuel on air.. on land still ok, no more fuel can just move your car to one side, or just put the triangular plate(watever it calls.. ha.).. on air, planes can stop halfway meh.. b4hand they can attempt to land on the nearby place.. but what if they find none.. oh my.. scary ah..
of course, the pilots in that plane(let's call it A) were aware of the amount of fuel they hav.. they even topped up extra 2hour journey.. its destination is some airport in US la.. however what they were unaware was the weather at the destination.. there were storm, wind shear(any sudden change in wind speed and direction), thick mist.. planes can find it hard to touch down..the airport there resumed most of the operation though.. this left the traffic controllers to be very busy, making sure the traffics were alright, and every plane to be landed safely.. of course, the weather slowed down the landing procedures, leaving many planes waiting on the air.. the waiting can be meant just going round n round an area until the traffic controller signals the plane to land.. A of course was instructed to stay on air for a period of time.. you can seee there were problems in the communication bw the pilots and the traffic controllers.. the TCs were very busy in handling lots of flights and i guess they couldnt put in much effort in every flight landing.. moreover, the pilot din say that they need EMERGENCY landing, he just said PRIORITY landing.. i think the 2 words make a lot of difference ma.. in spainish, the word priority means it is important, you must do it 1st.. but in english, it doesnt have the dangerous sign la.. you see, the words we use make a lot of differences.. n ya the TCs were not aware of the dangerous situation A wont in.. ya finally they signalled A to land, but the pilots couldnt see the runway at all bcos of the bad weather.. with the amount of fuel they had left, this is the only chance they had.. they failed to land, they tried the 2nd time.. n ya no fuel left, they crashed at a deserted bushy area.. half the number of pple survived... but ya.. the injuries can heal fast, but the incident will be grafted in their heart forever.. they can choose to live with the past, or just move on with a new life, leaving behind the past.. of course, is gd to choose the latter.. but is definitely not easy to forget such tragic accident..
this is not the same time i watch this.. watched 2, 3 times liao.. really want to pray that such tragics will not happen again.. every time i felt fearful and sad after watching it.. sad of the loss of many lives, the reaction of their families, etc.. fearful of the cause of the air crashes.. a lot are on human errors.. ya is high risk to be a pilot..high risk, high pay.. heh.. i wonder how much a traffic controller earn.. they also have big responsibilities man.. most of the time the pilots follow instruction from them.. they need to be vigilant at all times, decisive, quick, etc.. woah, not easy to handle an airline industry.. eh no la, wont have the phobia of taking flights i hope, heh.. i still wan to enjoy my flights in the future, like e SQ flights.. woah.. ha.. hopefully i can get the 1st class seat.. ok HOPEFULLY la..
woah.. realised my england very the powderful ah.. haiyo, better brush up my english..
